Mahala Sauna Pop-Up Guidelines
Sauna • Sea • Soul
Welcome to Mahala Sauna - your invitation to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with nature. Our beachside sauna pop-ups blend the heat of the wood-fired sauna with the refreshing cold of the sea. To help you get the most from your experience, please take a few minutes to read these guidelines.
In the Sauna
- Typical sessions last 8-15 minutes at a time.
- Listen to your body - it's not about endurance, it's about balance.
- Step out when you feel comfortably warm, not overheated.
- Rest between sessions and cool down naturally or with a sea dip before re-entering.
- Most people enjoy 2-3 rounds of heat and cold for full benefit.
In the Sea
- Enter the water slowly and mindfully.
- Avoid jumping straight in - allow your body to adjust.
- Start with 30 seconds to 2 minutes in cold water. Gradually build up over time.
- Keep breathing steady - slow exhalations help manage the shock response.
- Always leave the water before you start to feel numb or light-headed.
Hydration & Well-being
- Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your sauna session.
- Avoid alcohol before or during your visit.
- Bring a towel, swimsuit, flip-flops, and a warm change of clothes.
- Eat lightly beforehand; a full stomach can make heat exposure uncomfortable.
Health & Safety
- Use the sauna and sea at your own risk.
- Mahala Sauna and its team are not responsible for individual safety in or out of the water.
- If you feel unwell, dizzy, or disoriented - exit immediately and rest.
- Not recommended for those with heart conditions, circulatory issues, or pregnancy without prior medical advice.
The Mahala Spirit
Mahala means "free" and "community."
Our pop-ups are about sharing warmth - not just from the sauna, but from each other.
Be kind, patient, and respectful of fellow sauna-goers.
Enjoy quiet moments, laughter, or conversation - whatever helps you unwind.
Together, we create something special: Heat, cold, connection - and a little magic by the sea.
